So far it’s great! I ordered this for our laundry room to give it some life, and even though we haven’t installed it yet, I’m very pleased. It’s large enough that it makes a statement and should provide plenty of light; yet small enough not to hit the cabinets! The design is eye catching, yet simple and seems well-made with details that appear well-thought out. The wiring is standard and strait forward, which I appreciate! Comes with a little booklet showing assembly and installation instructions, and for the most part, that’s quite detailed and clear. I only needed 1 of the optional downrod pieces that screw together (the shortest one is required, then the mid-size one I used and there are three longer ones that would work for taller ceilings). The canopy has a swivel for the downrod if your ceiling is sloped. Assembly prior to wiring to the ceiling was pretty easy. The globe shades get added *AFTER* the entire light is properly wired and installed. They came boxed very safely in separate styrofoam. I wanted to see how that worked (attaching shades) and it was a little tricky, as the picture for that step was vague. (Rest of pictures and instructions are very clear.) I attached photos, but basically there’s a cylindrical nut that sits flush at the top of the “cap” for each globe. That has to be unscrewed and slid down the tube along with the cap to leave the notched inner plate unobstructed enough to maneuver the globe shade over the inner notched plate, then the cap is pushed flush against open end of globe and the nut is tightened to clamp the globe shade between cap and inner plate. Hopefully that makes sense, because the instructions on that don’t. Once I have the light wired and hung, I’ll install the lightbulbs (g9, pin type), and then put the shades on. I’m pretty excited for how this is going to look, as the old fluorescent light it’s replacing is an eyesore. 4.5 stars for this cool light at this point!
