When I was a little girl, we had a lamp remarkably similar to this one. My mother did a lot of embroidery, and I remember her arranging the lamp in various positions as she sewed. As I grew up with my own home, I wondered why lamps like this one were not on the market. It was attractive, but more importantly, it was a great tool for anyone needing a specific lighting location. This one from Wayfair has the same design idea. It also has clean, simple lines with a swing arm that is substantial, moves easily, and stays put. The cherry on top, however, is the remote control that allows several different lighting options. I put it in my living room, and it looks so familiar and comforting that I don't recognize it as even being new.

Very easy to assemble, the base is heavy enough to be properly stable and the metal has a color that sits right between gold and brass, clearly not real brass though. It comes with a remote but I don’t find it necessary as the floor button is easy enough to click on and off in the room where we use the lighting. I don’t ever change the color of the lighting from its warmest setting, so the remote lives in a drawer.

This little number fits the bill when it comes to a timeless, classy look! I read a few complain about the quality of the shade. I did not see an issue. When the whole lamp is set up, it completely feels high quality! Even came with a light bulb, and the remote is so cool!

The lamp wasn’t simple to put together because you had to put it together in a certain order. No tools needed to put it together. Has a button to hit so you can turn it on and off, and remote to change the level. I like that it has a soft level.
