I ordered two. They came quickly. On one of them, the slot was broken. I should be receiving the replacement in a couple of days. The one that seems to be in work order is very sturdy with an all metal body, even the back plate, and very nice classic design. It’s also a good size without being too big and bulky. I ordered the white, and it is a classic white.
Update. I received the replacement. I had both put up. I guess while anchoring to the wall, both of the mail slot springs started doing the same thing as the one I wanted replaced. The slots won’t close without readjusting the spring. It’s very disappointing. I replaced these with mailboxes that hung on the wall for over ten years and this never happened. It’s too bad because these look really nice compared to what’s out on the market. I do not recommend these at all. I don’t know what I’m going to do with these now.
Post Update I decided to look for a new mailbox. I went to a store locally that has nice quality ones. They had this one displayed in matte black which is very nice looking, BTW. I played with the slot, and it worked. So, I decided something could be done with the spring to make it work. I called the company asking their opinion on the matter. They were very nice and offered to replace them with one of their other models free of charge. I didn’t find one that had this same clean and classical look which I absolutely love. I decided to see if there was something I could do. I bent the top arm part of the spring back, and it did the trick. It was that simple.
I’m giving this 4 stars because of the hassle, otherwise, it’s solid and is a gorgeous design for an incredible price.
