I put a coat of polyurethane on it both before and after assembly, noticed some deeper marks that were on a few pieces. Dark in nature and could not be sanded out. Disappointing.

Nice stand, is teak so will require maintenance after one year.

After one New England season (not year, "season") the layers of wood began to separate where the bolt holes are located causing the frame to flex and eventually come apart. The pieces of wood are not one solid piece they are thin layers of 1/2" wood glued together and it is a softwood which is not really great for outdoor use. I've had to secure some of it back together with outdoor wood screws to try and get another season out of it but year two it looks like some makeshift frame and not something elegant like it did when new. It is heavy and not easy to move around solo, it was stored during winter months however if you are in a southern climate maybe it would last longer. The price has decreased by $50 since I purchased it so affordability wise it's ok for a season. Teak would be a superior product but cost would be very high.
