Moulin à vent Haghni

Purchased the yellow windmill but did not like the plain paint job so added some red paint accents to the fins and tail of the windmill to add some pizzazz. It looks so nice when spinning now. Also used some automotive UV safe clearcoat for another layer of protection. Remember this is basic kit so add decorations as you like. The screws seem short and small considering the amount of weather and vibration to be thrown at the windmill. To keep the screws from coming undone consider using some thread locker, purchasing some beefier hardware or painting them with matching paint to seal them together so they don't shake apart. This windmill has lots of shiny screws, so we painted the screws to match the yellow frame. This item is decorative and will not withstand heavy 30 mph winds. Consider taking the top spinner off in high winds or tying it in place to not spin to prevent damaging the tube insert at top where the spinner drops into place. We live in an area with some high winds so we added additional staking to keep it on the ground and with an existing black pipe from a satellite removal, placed the windmill over that pipe. This kit has the basic windmill; it is up to you on how long it will last. With some basic maintenance of greasing the spinner, checking the paint for flaking and checking screws for rust and looseness, it should last quite a while. You will need to put the maintenance in and then enjoy for many years. Gave three stars since the build, prep and extras to maintain really adds into the overall time factor and longevity.

I no am from Kansas we had a big wooden one in our yard there. We live in Oklahoma now and we have downsized. This windmill fits our new home perfectly… now we will see if it holds up for the winds here….To be continued

Beautiful! It’s easy to assemble the second time I bought this windmill! It looks so nice in my front yard. It’s a nice landmark on my house since I ‘m the only one who has it at the subdivision entrance.
