Bought this a couple of weeks ago. Really excited, Blackstone is generally High Quality and great bargain. This unit however has a few issues for which the fix is known, but aftermarket and home made. It's a griddle, flat cooking surface - is really good for everything. However, as a griddle, with oil drain in the BACK, that means the cooking surface should have a slight tilt to the back. This ships, and when installed properly, intentionally has a more than slight tilt to the front. Solution at the factory would be adjustable pegs for the front, much like a refrig or washing machine. At Home fix is fairly easy, steel pipe sleeves over the alignment pegs to raise the front 1-7/32" to give the slight (1/16"| Foot) tilt to the back. The Second issue hover is a REAL SAFETY concern. During the initial burn in, the lower compartment got so hot that the gas regulator failed, and a portion of the hose melted. It's a good thing the regulator overheated and failed - otherwise it could have been a real explosive situation. The remainder of the 'storage' compartment could not actually be used - while cooking it was just too hot. Been waiting for a week for a call back on the safety issues, may have to file a complaint with the CPA. Hate to go that route, company used to be top rated, not sure what changed in their culture, but if they're not careful, their negligence is going to get someone killed.
