The rockers are sturdy and should withstand the winds! However - always an however - the units were harder to put together than they should have been and the holes don't always line up. The rocking feet could have been better designed so that the seal between the leg and rocker was better. These were a gift to someone and I hope that they do like them. I am not sure if I would buy a set for myself.
