For the fair price, I received what I expected. Questions asked prior to order were answered by manufacturer not quite truthfully. For instance, upon asking if it was easy to remove the folding tarp for fall and winter, I was told it was quite easy, without any detail. Which is far from the truth, so bad that I will not be able to remove it by myself and will have to explore a way to wrap it safely folded in place. We live near Montreal. It might be easier if the pergola was installed on the ground but mine is on the balcony, but it is not the only reason. The assembly process as described is wrong, posts will not hold vertically by themselves until the middle crossbar is screwed in and then you can't slid the tarp rolling pins. So with each of the 6 tarp rolling bars, we had to unscrew and rescrew one header post. We needed 4 persons to finish the job. Secondly the engineering behind the rolling pins design is poorly thought and makes screwing of the 18 little nuts quite tedious. Under any quality standards ... I hope they last.

I purchased this pergola specifically because the product description clearly stated that the canopy was “waterproof.” Unfortunately, that claim is completely false. The very first time it rained, water poured straight through and down from the canopy, making it impossible to sit underneath—defeating the entire purpose of having a covered pergola. We only assembled it about three weeks ago and had our first rainfall shortly afterward. As soon as we discovered the issue, I contacted Wayfair. Their response was extremely disappointing. I was told that because the purchase was made more than 33 days ago, there was nothing they could do. Apparently, it doesn’t matter that the product hadn’t even experienced rain until recently or that I contacted them immediately after discovering the problem. Poor customer service aside, what is most concerning is that Wayfair appears comfortable selling a product with what I believe to be a misleading or fraudulent description. Advertising something as “waterproof” when it clearly is not is unacceptable. Buyers beware. Save your money on this one. This experience has cost Wayfair a customer.

The absolute perfect pergola for some shade to get some respite in those extremely hot summer days set up is very easy and is esthetically beautiful

Not bad but it was a little on the lightweight side. Not sure if I would buy this again. Purchased a year ago and it’s already faded.
