When my wife passed I planted a Japanese Red Maple (one of our favorite trees) in remembrance of her. I wanted a bench that would allow me to sit and admire it while reflecting on pleasant & peaceful memories. I set it on some pavers on the lawn in front of the tree. Its natural wood appearance works nicely with my garden. Unfortunately, a friend (300+ lbs) chose to "plop" himself down onto it. I thought it was going to collapse under him. I saw it physically move and thought I heard a groan of the wood. Now, it serves as a table on my deck for my plants (outdoor summer). After owning this item for a while I have to change my review. It does NOT weather well. Over the time I've had this it has become ugly,....causing me to spray paint it. I used Krylon Exterior paint which is a good quality item,....but have had to paint it twice. Although this bench was purchased recently it looks like an old bench that I'm trying to rescue. This is my first negative review on a WAYFAIR purchase.
