I was very excited to receive this in the mail. The only caveat to receiving was that the packages are not only very long, but they are heavy and difficult to carry just by myself. Luckily, I have a husband that likes to carry heavy things so he was able to bring it to the backyard. I was fully expecting that I would be able to put this together as I have done many Wayfair items in the past I was dreaming about wonderful nights full of friends and food and delightful conversation under my new pergola. However, it became glaringly clear that this was a very large project in the need of power tools so I begrudgingly asked my husband to put it together. It was definitely more of a project than I anticipated, although it seems pretty straightforward in terms of the amount of pieces it does take quite a long time to put together and is quite complicated so this is our halfway Mark review and will update when it is fully put together, but I have high hopes for this one.

This is a nice pergola. It took me about 3 hours to assemble by myself, and I needed a second person only to help me flip it over after assembling the frame. A second person is required for moving it as well, as it needs more support so it is not damaged. The instructions were adequate, though not overly comprehensive. Material quality is good, the wood is lighter than pine and hardwoods, but that makes it easier to handle and work with. This can be staked into the ground with the included stakes, as well as bolted to a deck or patio with the included bolts. It is pretty sturdy free standing though, as there are feet that attach to the bottom of the posts. The cover seems to be of good quality, though it will definitely be taken down for the winter season to avoid snow damage. Overall we are happy with this, it is a nice addition to the area down at the lake at the lake cabin!
