Just got 3 pairs of these chairs to finish my dining set for my deck. Very disappointed. Pros: I love the chairs with regards to look, color, sturdiness. etc. Exactly what I wanted when ordering and complement my table perfectly. Cons: basically, the packing and protection to ship. I had ordered some similar chairs from a competing retailer before and returned them for this very issue. I thought Wayfair may be better, but no. There is very minimal packing material/protection around the metal. And. all of the parts are simply thrown the box. For this reason, each of the six chairs had very noticeable chips and large bare areas where the paint had been chipped off just from banging around in the box during shipping. This will eventually chip further and look terrible. One of the chairs took such a hard hit, that is is not sitting level on its base, it is tilted to the right. I just cannot fathom why any company would take time and effort to make a good product like this, just to allow it to ruin during shipping. I have ordered a total of 8 chairs from two different companies, and all had this problem. I have reported this to the seller, so I will update the review after some resolution is made. The problem here is, with my other order, it was from a big box store and I could simply take them back to my local store...if I have to go through the hassle of shipping these back, I am out with Wayfair. It is just a total disrgard of the customer. If these chairs were cheap, maybe not as much to complain about, but at this price point, more should be expected. Photos are just a few examples of the damage, it is all over each chair.
UPDATE: After posting this review, I was contacted by the company that provides/ships them through Wayfair. They were prompt, and offered to send me two chairs for free to have one full replacement, and parts to use to replace on the other chairs. They were sent quickly, and I appreciate that aspect of the customer service. One of the replacements was actually in good condition, the other was also banged around and paint chipped off. So, in total, out of 8 total chairs, one was unblemished totally. I have realized that if I want this type of chair, I will likely have to live with it, as it seems every company is similar. Still not thrilled, but at least they tried a little. A few dollars of styrofoam would take care of this entire issue. Just sad that more care is not taken.
