(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Super easy to use. My kids are no making their own pancakes and waffles. Inexpensive and easy to use

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received the pancake mixer and dispenser free from Napoleon for testing purposes. On paper, the pancake mixer and dispenser is the perfect companion to the Napoleon griddle I bought last year since it keeps the workspace clean and gives you only one item to take outside to your grilling station. Sadly, the functionality of the dispenser is not worth that convenience. With no instructions included, I was on my own to figure out how to use the dispenser and find a recipe to try out. Ultimately, I just used a general recipe I found online. In hindsight, I would load the ingredients from the bottom instead of by the top, because the bottom opening is considerably bigger. After heating the griddle, I was ready to pour the mix out. I felt pretty wimpy trying to sqeeze the batter out. A recipe that results in a thinner batter might work better, but I felt like I was getting a workout! The dispenser cleans up pretty easily, as everything comes apart nicely. However, I was disappointed with the amount of batter stuck at the bottom of the container though; it was probably enough for another full sized pancake. That being said, my pancakes were utterly delicious, and cooking them on the Napoleon griddle is an absolute dream. But I do feel like my brunch worked out despite the dispenser, rather than because of it.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received this product from Napoleon in exchange for a review. I was quite excited to receive the product in a timely manner after ordering as I thought it would be especially good for camping where I could mix up the batter in one container and set beside the griddle for cooking. First review and washing of the container looked promising as it came apart well. The screw on top lid with a push on batter stopper, a stainless steel mixer ball and a screw off bottom. However, there were no instructions with the mixer. I scanned the QR code and it took me to the Napoleon website. I went under products but had to search for 'pancake' to find this product. A review of the product indicated it worked best with premix dry pancake mix or from scratch. I always make pancakes from scratch. But, no instructions or guidelines on how big of a batch one could make so that it mixed well. I decided to go with a standard 1 cup of flour. The top of the mixer is too small to dump a cup of flour into it therefore I had to spoon in the flour...some mess of flour on the counter now. Adding the sugar, salt and baking powder was OK. Adding the egg, oil and milk went ok. Install the top and shake. It didn't appear that the ingredients mixed well and when I went to pour the batter into the pan the batter was too thick. I really had to shake the batter to the top of the mixer and SQUEEZE to get it to pour into the pan. I added a bit more milk and shook and the batter came out better the second attempt. One of the tricks I liked to make alphabet pancakes for the kids growing up. I tried making an 'N' for Napoleon and it worked kind of OK, but a lump in the batter splurted out and didn't yield a uniform character. However, even after no batter would pour (shake) out of the mixer there was quite a bit of batter left in the mixer and unable to get out and into the pan. Failing grade for standard pancakes. The next best thing to pancakes is crepes and I thought the thinner batter would work better. Well, the thinner batter poured better, but there were lumps of flour in my crepes. After each crepe I shook the mixer again for 60 seconds, but I retained flour lumps right to the last crepe. Failing grade again. Cleanup was terrible. Although the mixer caps come off both ends the batter got into every nook & cranny and it was DIFFICULT to clean. Definitely something that I would NOT want to take camping where water and washing dishes can be limited. One might be able to use this a mixer for runny liquids, but it does NOT perform well with pancake or crepe batter.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Received this product free from Napoleon for testing purposes. We used Napoleon’s Pancake Dispenser and Shaker for vanilla bean pancakes and for once… the kitchen didn’t look like a batter crime scene. Super easy to add ingredients, seals tight (no splash disasters while shaking), and the whisk ball actually does its job—no weird lumps. The best part is pouring: you get real control, so you’re not accidentally making pancakes the size of your head. Genuinely made breakfast smoother, cleaner, and way less chaotic.
