They are not insulated. They are thin steel. I bought two because I thought they would be insulated with styrofoam, as described. I had to buy plastic liners to insulate them myself.

This planter is light weight and a very good size. I have not planted anything as of writing this because it’s winter in Idaho. I am anxious to get something beautiful planted this spring. This planter appears to be well made and it was packaged well.
