I ordered this for an old steno chair which has absolutely no padding. This cushion is wider than the chair, but that is no problem. This has a "pocket" at the top of the cushion which holds it onto the chair. I love that part. I wish it also had a "pocket" to hold it onto the seat of the chair too, but that isn't as necessary as the top "pocket'. It has ties on the sides, but those are totally useless for my purpose. The cushion is working well. Note that the padding on both top & bottom is NOT thick. But I needed relatively thin padding in order for my steno chair to slide underneath the desk (so that I have room to walk in between the chair and our bed).
