The material used for this Adirondack chair is of premium quality. It looks and feels like real wood. However, when folding this chair the locking mechanism is metal and scratches the sides of the chair. It can also be difficult to change positions of the chair to reclining and back but I did it a bunch and it seemed to get easier. The added ottoman is a must, really adds to the vibe and allows for maximum relaxation in the ADK.. David. Liverpool, NY. Wed Sep 24 2025
