I'm super delighted with this potting shed. We purchased it, in the 'natural' color, to use in our rec room as a china hutch. I was initially afraid that it would look too 'potting bench-ish' to be used as such. Once it was assembled, though, I found that it was even better than I had hoped. The existing wood in the rec room is a warm oak with a satin finish. The color of the potting shed was very much the same but with a matt finish. I fixed that by coating the wood with Howard's Feed-N-Wax wood polish and conditioner which not only gave the wood a slight sheen but deepened the color for an even better match with existing wood. NOTE 1: I originally, purchased two of these for the rec room based on measurements provided in the real estate listing for our new house. Once we got in the house, we found that, while I could fit both in the recroom, it gave the room a very crowded, over-stuffed look. So, we sent one back and kept one. Customer service was fabulous and the return was simple! NOTE 2: The assembly was time consuming even for my husband who is quite comfortable with wood working in general. But definitely worth it. Leaving a second review as I don’t see my first one listed This product is made of really inexpensive pinewood with a very light spray paint is it a scratch and comes off when you wipe It’s listed as an outdoor potting bench when it actually rained water fell through the gaps of the countertop ended up in my drawer this took me an hour and a half to put together and I recommend highly if you want to last more than one summer just give it a varnish coat. It will extend the life of this piece and also make it waterproof. Overall, it’s a nice piece.
