Great no-climb height for my toddler. Sturdy plywood, sanded and stained to avoid splinters and snags on carpet. My only complaint is the compartments are not staggered in height. The base is all one flat height. This means you need very tall books for the back - taller than most adult books - or you do what we are doing and build platforms to place in each compartment to bring the books up a bit.
