Grande bibliothèque ouverte avec rangement

I finally pulled the trigger on this shelving unit, as it was the perfect size for an odd-sized wall in a rental house. Overall, the piece is solid but has some flaws indicative of flatpack -- small inconsistencies like visible gaps in a few places where they shouldn't be, visible factory-applied adhesive in a few places, and one shelf with an edge cut slightly crooked to where it was a frustration point during assembly. BluDot has consistently and substantially raised their prices over the past couple of years (this shelf has almost doubled in price), but quality seems as though it is not keeping up with the price point. I purchased the low shelf from the same Open Plan series a couple of years ago and it does not suffer from any of the same issues. I would definitely recommend waiting to purchase BluDot items until they run their annual (sometimes semi-annual, these days) sale.

I paid someone to install it then realized it was chipped; pretty obvious on a black bookshelf. Wayfair offers to send a new shelf but won’t refund or compensate me for having to hire the same handyman again to install it. The options offered were terrible and all involve me spending time disassembling it myself or paying more money to have it uninstalled and installed again.

Looks exactly as shown however the left front pillar is not fully straight. This wouldnt be noticeable normally but since i placed it next to the low cabinets also made by bluedot it is somewhat noticeable since its not flush. For the price point i was mildly disappointed.

The issue here is not with the product, it is the fact that assembly was included yet Wayfair was "not able to" accommodate the assembly. So, I the bookcase remains in my garage in a box until I can enlist help on my own.

Beautiful bookcase. Sturdy but design is simple and sleek - just what we wanted.
