The bedframe is sturdy, the wood is thick. I ordered the frame in linen upholstery which looks beautiful, but I am slightly disappointed with the rough texture. The nail heads came scratched because there was no internal protective packaging. Assembly was not easy. There were a bunch of square head screws which were difficult to secure. I ended up having to buy different screws that are compatible with a power drill. The manufacturer should make an effort to indicate where the slats are to be installed.
