Love, love this this bed! - we got the Cal King size. Need to complete the look with 2 bedside tables and ottoman by the foot of the bed.

Let me begin by first stating how much I LOVE my new Esparto Wingback bed! I am so glad that I waited to find the perfect bed for my Queendom! I never considered a tall headboard before and when I initially saw this one I wasn’t sure if I liked it. I was concerned it would be too overwhelming for my bedroom or too plain. After several years of debating and searching for the perfect bed—which this comes very close, I decided that this is the one. I would have been over the moon if it also had under the bed storage drawers. No other retailer has an eighty-seven inch tall headboard platform bed. Wayfair is the only place that has a bed like this one. Some others have tall headboards, but have cheap looking fabric or were too gaudy. This bed is timeless elegance. It transcends with various decor styles and with its clean lines, seamless design, and simplistic aesthetic, it boasts understated beauty. The fabric is of high quality and rivals high end furniture stores custom fabrics. The stitching and craftsmanship are impeccable. I inspected every inch of this bed and it is extremely well made. The handyman I ended up hiring was thoroughly impressed with how sturdy and well made this bed is constructed. The padding is incredible as well as it is definitely made of a high density foam that is thick and comfortable. Shipping was fast and the delivery guys were very professional and they arrived early in the window time frame. I had room of choice delivery and I am so glad I chose this option. The two boxes were very large and very heavy and had to go up a flight of stairs. Now, for the honest and unfiltered truth about the assembly. This bed, due to its height was a beast to assemble! For reference, I have assembled many items over the past few years and I can say I am very handy with a drill. I read the directions several times before the bed even arrived and mapped out a plan for how I could assemble it solo. This is definitely a two person job. Mind you, I am only referring to the headboard. The rest was very easy. I started with the headboard because it looked to be the most difficult to put together. I had to not follow the directions in sequence in order to stand the headboard upright on my own. I laid the headboard facing down, attached the shorter section to the headboard then used books to lift up the headboard up so I could attach the wings. You have to do this so that the bottom section is secured. Then I needed a second person to help me stand the headboard upright. There are french cleats already attached to the headboard. This was the trickiest part. Measuring accurately is absolutely crucial here! However, once you measure and attach the matching cleats to the wall, now you have to lift this massive headboard up high enough to click it into place. This is impossible to do solo. Even using books, you’ll need someone to hold the headboard steady while going from side to side to ensure that the cleats are lined up. Needless to say at 3 am and in tears, I texted my handyman and he came out later that morning. It took him two hours to re-measure, re-drill, and line the cleats up until finally he got it perfect so that the cleats were only holding the headboard against the wall and no weight was pulling downward. The trick he used was to make a template of the cleats on the headboard with tape and then carefully measured the height and width to attach the cleats on the wall. We used books to raise the headboard high enough to drop inside the headboard cleats. The takeaway here is to hire a professional to assemble and attach the headboard. The rest was extremely simple and straightforward. I purchased separately, and had him assemble, a 10 inch box spring and it fit perfectly inside the frame. For reference in the photos, my mattress is 16 inches with a four inch memory foam topper. After the assembly ordeal, I was so excited and thoroughly pleased with how beautiful this bed is! It has completely transformed my space and it feels grand without overwhelming my room. I highly recommend this bed especially if you have high or vaulted ceilings. Sitting in bed feels warm and cozy. Unfortunately my cat is not too much of a fan because he lost his hiding place underneath the bed. I’m sure he’ll get over it. Lol. Once again, Wayfair did not disappoint.

This bed is the perfect size for our 10ft ceilings With simple all-white bedding, it elevates our entire room. The frame is big enough to fit larger motorized bases.
