We just got this new Hygiene system. I like the compact size and inner closing lid that hopefully will reduce odor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this is labeled an incontinence pail. This is actually very handy for ladies who are still of childbearing age and need to dispose of sanitary napkins. I personally use adult diapers when I am on my cycle. This product is very easy to use. I had absolutely no problem changing the bags out of it. It does lock away odors, and it is very easy to clean. I was given this bathroom accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this bathroom accessory to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really like the concept behind this adult incontinence pail, but unfortunately, I was not overly impressed with how it performed in everyday use. I have used diaper pails in the past for my babies, so I was hoping this would offer a similar level of convenience for adult incontinence products. However, adult diapers are much larger and bulkier than baby diapers or feminine hygiene products, so the pail fills up very quickly. I found myself needing to empty it almost daily, which takes away from some of the convenience. The pail itself is fairly simple to use, but there are a few design features that could definitely be improved. My biggest issue is the lid. You have to manually press the button/latch on top to open the pail. I really wish it had a food pedal for hands-free opening. When you are cleaning up after a messy incontinence episode, your hands may already be dirty, and having to touch the button to open the pail is not very sanitary or convenient. The refill bag that came with the pail is okay, but nothing particularly special. To install it, you have to stretch the top of the bag over four hook-like sections inside the pail to hold it in place. Unfortunately, this did not work very well for me. The bag would frequently come loose and collapse down into the pail, which became very frustrating. When the bag was full of adult diapers, removing it was also not a smooth process. I had to wiggle and carefully pull the bag out while trying not to rip it. As far as odor control, I would say the pail does a semi-good job. It contains the odor fairly well while it is closed, but as soon as you open the lid to put another diaper inside, the odor comes out very strongly. Since I was having to empty the pail almost every day anyway, I did not notice a major advantage in odor control compared with other disposal options. Overall, I think the idea behind this pail is great, especially for caregivers or households managing adult incontinence. However, the current design could use some improvements. A larger capacity, a more secure way to hold the refill bag in place, easier bag removal, better odor containment when opening the lid, and especially a hands-free foot pedal would make this product much more practical. I wanted to love it because the concept is useful, but unfortunately, the design made disposal more frustrating rather than more convenient for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, I want to thank Stellar Panel for sending me the Hygenie to test! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect because we've tried several diaper disposal systems for our young boys, and one thing they've all had in common is that they never seem to keep the smell contained. My husband is only 32 and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about two years ago. Since then, he's experienced a variety of symptoms, and one of the hardest things he's had to deal with is incontinence at such a young age. He jokes that both he and our baby are in diapers, but the reality is that dealing with a chronic illness can be physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting. It's especially hard when something so personal affects how you feel about yourself. Over the past year, we've spent a lot of time researching different products to make everyday life easier, from adult briefs and pads to protective clothing, odor-control solutions, and even putting together a little "go bag" for when we're out running errands or doing activities with our kids. We're always looking for ways to make things more manageable while allowing my husband to feel comfortable and confident. That's why I was so excited to try the Hygenie, and I'm genuinely impressed! Our current diaper pail for the baby requires me to open the lid and physically push the dirty diaper through a flap. I have to keep touching the diaper while pushing it through, and sometimes the entire lid pops off. It's frustrating, smells awful, and honestly doesn't feel very sanitary. The Hygenie is so much easier to use. I simply press the button on the outer lid, which opens the lid and the inner flap at the same time. I can drop the diaper or incontinence product straight in without having to push it through an opening or touch the soiled product again. When I close the lid, the inner flap closes back up to help seal off the bag. It's such a simple design, but it makes a huge difference! I'm only touching the exterior button and lid, rather than having to handle the dirty product more than necessary. And the biggest win for me? The smell! I haven't noticed any lingering odors with the lid closed. After dealing with other diaper pails that seem to smell no matter what you do, this has been such a relief. It's especially important when you're disposing of adult incontinence products because the last thing you want is for an odor to make a very personal struggle obvious to everyone around you. I also appreciate that the Hygenie is taller than the diaper pails we've used before. You don't have to bend down as far to use it, which is a nice benefit when you're already dealing with physical challenges or caring for someone who is. But honestly, what means the most to me is what this product represents for my husband. Incontinence is a sensitive subject, especially for a young man navigating MS while raising a family. I can see how his symptoms sometimes affect the way he feels about himself, and as his wife, it's hard to watch someone you love struggle with that. Having a discreet, convenient way to dispose of used products means there's one less thing for him to worry about. It doesn't draw attention to his condition, and it helps make our home feel a little more comfortable and private. I love that we can use the Hygenie for both our baby's diapers and my husband's incontinence products, too. It's practical for our family and solves a problem we've been trying to find a better solution for. It's really simple to replace the bags! All you do is take a bag from the roll, just like a trash bag and there are 4 prongs under the lid and you just put the bag around each prong almost like you're putting a sheet on a mattress, and then you close the lid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me this pail! The Hygenie is modern looking and fits nicely in my bathroom. We actually have a taller counter and can fit the pail right underneath. It's simple to discard diapers; I do think a pedal operation would be nice as I often discard with one hand. Pulling the filled bag out proved to be a bit of a nuisance. I did find myself struggling as the diapers make the bag wider as they compact in there. The flap also stuck and would not close if the diapers got too close to the top. When the pail is closed, we notice no issue with smell. However, I did struggle with a strong smell every time the lid opened. Because of this and the limited capacity, this pail is not for someone who doesn't feel like emptying the garbage often. One other note: I'm sure most people would enjoy the scented bags. Our household avoids fragrances, so would prefer unscented. Also, the fragrance mixed with the smell of dirty diapers just doesn't smell great! Overall, the quality of this pail seems excellent and it's a great way to have a discreet, clean, and controlled spot to throw hygiene products. It is perfect for someone who wants to keep their space minimal and clean looking and feeling, and is willing to empty the pail every day or two.
