We ordered this because I love my kitchen aid and all of its accessories. This may be the one that isn’t so great. While it did produce great tasting juice, it took us 10 apples to fill that container. It was very messy and we had to strain the juice multiple times to get the pulp out. I will keep it and use it again. Maybe it does better with other things like carrots that aren’t so full of pulp and messy. I also went online and read that it does great for orange juice so we will try it with that.

I have been keeping an eye out for healthier ways to prepare foods, and the amount of sugar that is added to various fruit drinks is ridiculous. With a KitchenAid stand mixer, a big juicer isn't necessary, and the rotating ones that work great for oranges but not so much for apples, etc. This is a terrific juicer, but with a few caveats. First, THIS IS NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. I don't have a problem with this, but it would have been more convenient. Second, the instructions after assembly (which it didn't need any as it was together in the box, is limited to the actual juicing process. There is a cover you have to slide to the side underneath that will allow the juice to come out. It comes with two vessels, one for the pulp and one for the juice. I wouldn't allow the juice itself to fall the distance from the attachment to the counter top, it will splatter everywhere. But the pulp that come out is dry enough, it just snakes out the front and down as a ribbon. With these conditions in mind, I am very happy with this item.

The juicer attachment has been a great addition to my Kitchen Aid mixer. I am able to make my own fresh orange juice, which is great and healthy for me and my family. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the plastic construction. The other Kitchen Aid attachments I have are metal and look as though they'll last longer.

Box arrived all damaged, so I you intend to buy this as a present, just have this in mind. Luckly, the article suffered no damages. I believe this masticating juicing attachment should have been a little longer to avoid pulp to go to the juice colecting jar, as you can see in the pictures, it’s not a good fit for the KitchenAid 6QT stand mixer as I had to improvise with taller containers to avoid a bigger mess.
