The packaging wasn’t the best — it had a tear, and I could see the wood through it, which was a bit frustrating. One piece came slightly damaged, but nothing major. It was actually pretty easy to put together and took me around 3 hours. It felt a bit wobbly at first, but make sure to do step 46 — that makes all the difference! Now it’s super sturdy. Overall, I’m really happy with it. It’s the perfect size for my 7-year-old son!

This was a difficult project to rate. The desk from Wayfair was perfect - even better than I had expected. Sturdy material in pristine condition. I had purchased a protection plan and also the professional assembly. Desk was delivered three days after the order was placed and assembly was scheduled three days later for 11/17/24). I was very pleased to expect this desk would be in place less than a week after ordering. The assembly on 11/17/24 was horrible. The representative from Angi was careless and punctured a hole on a very visible piece of the desk (this resulted in a significant chunk of wood falling out). My biggest frustration was the Assembler wasn't even going to tell me about the damage. At first he told me it came damaged. When I pointed to the chunk of wood laying on the floor, he knew he was wrong. He said he could go ahead and complete the assembly and I could just glue the chunk of wood back to the damaged area. I sternly told him no, I didn't pay for a damaged product and the "professional" assembly I purchased wasn't professional at all. I then had to make several phone calls to Angi and Wayfair to order a new piece for the desk. The person at Wayfair was especially responsive and asked me to send a photo of the damage, which I did. The new part was ordered immediately on 11/18/24. I was asked by Angi to submit a claim form and this was somewhat difficult. I had to submit more photos, complete the claim form and summarize what happened (I realized later all of this was probably unnecessary). The new part arrived on 11/27/24 and a new booking with Angi was scheduled for 11/29/24. As of today, the new assembly person has completed the project and I am very pleased. So, I would give the desk five stars. The issues with the assembly made the experience disappointing, all because of the original assembler. Although I'm pleased to finally have the project completed, the damage to the desk extended the completion significantly and I feel like I had to work a lot harder than I should have to facilitate the project. I'm very pleased with everything I've ordered from Wayfair (especially this desk) but I doubt seriously that I'll ever pay for a professional assembly again. I could have, and probably should have, assembled the desk myself. I don't feel like the frustration was worth the money paid for assembly. And Angi emailed me and said the assembly was "on the house" because of the issues. Apparently, they weren't aware that, no, it wasn't, because I had already paid for the assembly.
