I wanted something different, unique and classy for my daughter-in-law as a small gift to go with their new kitchen. They have upper cabinets in this beautiful green color that matches this trivet wonderfully. This piece is a solid metal. I am very happy with it. I was a little concerned with the gold flecking on it being uneven and unsure how it will hold up. My husband said, that just makes it look more rustic! It’s great!
