I actually am using it as a mat for my table centerpiece instead of a placemat for like plates of food. I feel like the macrame aspect of them would be difficult to clean and a little chunky for regular placemat setting. I am more than happy with them as decoration though. They just add a little flair to a space. They seem very sturdy and would also be lovely under a planter or something like that.

If you're going for a Boho look, these definitely fit the bill. They're made well, they lay well, they're a nice size...all the things you look for in a quality place mat.
