I bought two of these one for myself and one for my son. They live in an apartment with a fireplace but the fireplace is not useable so I thought this would be a nice way to use it without actually burning anything in it. They are really enjoying it. It is more glowing like fire embers and not like an actual flame but it creates a nice ambiance and it puts out a decent amount of heat which is a nice extra to warm up the living room. I am using mine because I don’t like the smell of burning wood or duraflame logs but really enjoy the glow of the fire. Also use it with the heat setting to add a little warmth to the room.

It fits perfectly in my console. The insert that came with it cost way too much to replace. Almost as much as I paid for the whole thing. The only issue is that I didn't realize the controls were in the back of this item so it is a little squeeze to reach back to turn it on. I wish it came with a remote. As far as people saying it looks fake, my 10 year old thought it was real wood. It definitely pumps out some HEAT!
