Background colors are NOT as shown in the illustration. The sky is white and the water is a darker white with enough blue mixed in to differentiate it from the sky. I bought this set because the color of the sky as shown appears to be a teal or light turquoise and the water as a dusky grayish blue. These colors would have matched my decor, but the plain stark white background did nothing to add to the beauty of the bird.

The quality of these blue heron prints are amazing and the frames are quality as well. We chose the larger size with the gold frames.
