These lay nice and flat, no iron easy wipe clean placemat for holidays. These are not cloth but PVC so sort of a plastic. Will protect countertops or table tops from scratching and heat damage. They are slightly mesh like so they are not liquid impermeable. Was hoping things like wine or water would not be able to penetrate to wood or stone surfaces but it will. These look nice for PVC and will in my case sit on counter seating area. Overall happy with them for my purpose as did not want something to fussy. The pattern is completely reversible from one side to the next if want more of a white look instead of the red as the prominent color. Wanted something that would not stain itself in area kids eat so don't have to fuss but still fun for kiddos.

Exactly what I was looking for! The plastic placemats are easy to clean and keep their shape - no ironing needed like other placemats! Water does go through them so I do not use them for children.
