I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this fireplace turned out once it was assembled. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it looks really good in our bedroom sitting area and gives the space a cozy, more refined feel. I also really like the narrow profile. It sits fairly close to the wall and doesn't take up a ton of floor space. My husband assembled it by himself and it took him exactly two hours. He said the assembly was pretty straightforward and all of the parts were included. It would probably go faster with two people, but it's definitely manageable for one. The fireplace itself can be used with just the flame effect for the glow and ambiance, which can be adjusted for brightness and of course with the heat turned on. It also has a timer and comes with a remote, which is really convenient. The flame effect looks nice, although I do think the logs look a little more artificial than some other electric fireplaces I've seen. There are a couple of things that kept this from being 5 stars for me. The gray "brick" surrounding the fireplace is actually particle board with the brick design printed onto the front. It still looks nice from a normal distance, but up close it's obviously not dimensional brick. I love the idea of the concealed flip-up storage space, but the panel itself feels pretty flimsy. That's probably my biggest concern because it seems like it might break with repeated opening/closing, so we're going to be careful with it. Aside from those things, I'm really happy with it. It looks much nicer assembled than I expected, doesn't overwhelm the room, and adds a really cozy feel to our sitting area. For the overall look and functionality, I think it's a very nice piece!
