Couchette Alethea

Bought this item for my son as his ‘big boy’ bed. Using it as a floor bed (so did not install the wheels). Aesthetically, not much to rave about but love how it fits his space perfectly and that he can’t hurt himself on it since the base is only 4 inches - we used an 8 inch mattress. My one BIG negative about this item is that it has a TERRIBLE (and I mean TERRIBLE!) chemical odor that it gives off - which for a children’s bed is totally unacceptable! Doubt the paint used is even child safe! Again, not convinced it is worth the amount of money I spent on it. :(

The unit is nice enough but a regular size twin mattress does not really fit! I even asked the online assistant and she said it would fit. You can do better, Wayfair! I wish I had bought one without the sides. I ended up buying a foam mattress so we could smash and squeeze it in, but I don’t know how we will get a sheet around it. Do not recommend this.

Smelled strongly of gasoline and toxic chemicals unfortunately...returning.

I like the look of the trundle. However, it does not fit a standard size mattress as answered in the questions. My standard size twin mattress was about an inch too long. We were able to squeeze it in, though. It’ll just make for inconvenient sheet changes.

I am disappointed The picture shows the whole frame upper bed and lower. Now it’s put together and can’t ship it back... With things the way they r.. I can’t just eat the cost of this.. Don’t know what to do.
