Persée et Andromède, v. 1620 - Peter Paul Rubens - Toile encadrée sur mesure

This is not quite what I was expecting. While the print itself is nice and looks fairly accurate to the photo, albeit slight more dull, the real issue is the frame. The frame is very cheap feeling. It literally bows and bends when you move it. The glass is plexiglass and the back is kept together with cheap clips. Overall disappointing framing for the cost of the art.

I hung this in our dining room hoping for a finished classic art piece, and the print itself is the good part, the image has nice depth, the dark background tones stay rich and the detail in the figures and the wing came through crisp, and the white mat gives it a proper framed look from across the room. The frame is where it falls short though. For something sold as a quality framed piece, the gold molding feels cheap and hollow in the hand, more like a lightweight composite than solid wood, and the corners on mine weren’t joined tightly, there’s visible play where two of them meet and one feels loose enough that I worry about it over time. The hanging was also more involved than I expected, despite the impression that it arrives ready to go, there was no hanger attached, you have to fix the hanger to the back yourself and then drill, anchor and screw into the wall, so plan on pulling out a drill and doing the full mounting job rather than just popping it on a hook. The gold finish reads brighter and more yellow in person than the listing photo too, and there’s some glare off the front depending on the light. The artwork honestly deserves better framing and easier mounting than it came with. If you mainly care about the print and don’t mind reinforcing the frame and doing a proper wall mount, it’s passable, but I can only loosely recommend it given those issues.
