The desk arrived with a bulging box that had been taped back together and appears it may have been a return. There is an overwhelming smell of paint thinner/stain. One of the desktop pieces had a large gouge in it, but unfortunately I didn't see that until the unit was half assembled. The holes don't line up well, so it takes some doing to get it all put together. The desktop pieces do not line up. There is a spot on top of the desk that the wood is a little broken so it snags and could cause injury if not careful. For now, I put the faux wood stickers over the two bad areas to cover them up. Functionally, the desk is fine. Aesthetically, it's not great. Hoping the smell dissipates over time, it's very strong.
