The box arrived looking recycled and a bit dented. The shelf has one tiny chip, one area of bubbling, and one imperfection on the back seam. It’s much lighter than I expected so I don’t plan to use it for anything heavy, but it was to go in an awkward space where I would come in and out of my garage into my home and wanted to lay down items like keys, in my purse, or sometimes use it for a short phone call to verify something on my iPad. I ordered a pouf so that I can pull it over and sit down to do something quickly there, but it is definitely not a desk for heavy books, heavy computers, or something to handle heavy use.
