Bureau avec rehausse

I am rather disappointed with this desk. The aesthetic is lovely, and there is ample space on the desktop, keyboard tray, and shelves. However, there are few drawbacks. I am glad it was on sale as it wasn’t even worth what I paid. My husband considers this a waste of money. - Each piece of wood on the backside of the desk split when we attached the legs to the back with the screws provided. Every single piece. - While the desk looks great from any angle, there is NOTHING to stop the shelves from slipping and falling. A notch or lip that keeps them aligned with the pegs would be perfect, but it’s just flat. The slightest bump knocks the entire shelf down along with everything on it. VERY frustrating!!! - 1 of the X bars already detached from the legs right after we set the desk up. We’ll have to add wood glue to reattach this. - Assembly step 1 instructs you to attach the keyboard tray tracks to the desk sides. Simple enough, except there were no marks/holes indicating where to attach the track. This was fixable with a drill & careful measurements, but a very disappointing first step. All of that being said, it’ll be an acceptable desk, with modifications. I’ll have to cancel the furniture protection plan I purchased since we need to make a few modifications for it to be fully functional.

Love my new desk! Pretty easy to put together!

I really love the style of this desk. It took forever to and a day to get it because lots of other people liked it too (it was back ordered). In the end it didn’t quite meet my expectations. It’s pretty obvious that it’s a laminate wood pattern and there are places where the veneer isn’t very secure. I ended up gluing some pieces down because it would have only been a matter of time before it peeled off. Some pieces came slightly damaged as well. The two shelves just sit on top of the pegs, and since there’s no back to the desk there’s nothing preventing the shelves from sliding around, so an accidental bump will cause the shelf to fall. This is another element that I’m going to find a makeshift solution for. Finally, the color is not what I had hoped for. I was wanting a finish with more of a warm honey feel but the piece is darker and underwhelming. Now I mentioned that it was back ordered, so I would check regularly on the status. At some point during the waiting period I noticed that the name of the piece changed, which makes it seem like Wayfair needed to find a different manufacturer of the piece. My original order was for the Edenburg desk by Gracie Oaks but eventually it became the Coble desk by Laurel Foundry. I wonder if this may be the reason for some of the differences from what I expected to what I received. In the end, it serves it purpose and I still like the style, but I have asked my husband if he could make me a new desk using this one as a template, that way I can get the color I was hoping for and we can build in solutions for cord keeping and shelves.

Better than expected! Well packaged and arrived on time. Solid, easy to put together (I assembled myself), and functional. I also purchased the matching bookshelf.

It's beautiful and easy to assemble. Several items were not labeled correctly, but I was able to discern from the pictures what the correct pieces should have been.
