After considering numerous guest bed options, happy that I chose this Twin XL daybed with trundle. It did take several hours to put together, but i studied instructions carefully, took my time, and had assistance from a helper when needed. The metal frame is sturdy and attractive. A 10” XL Twin mattress is on the way for the top. “Test” sleeping on the raised trundle with a new 8” gel memory foam mattress from Wayfair was very comfortable, better than I expected, and no noticeable squeaking. With a thick mattress pad to give a little “fluff” to the “firm” mattress, it still slides easily under the main frame. The trundle has two screws that fit into slots on the main frame to create a “King” for two adult guests. I hope to minimize the 2” difference in mattresses with different thickness of mattress pads. When the trundle portion is tucked away we appreciate having space in the small guest room for other uses.

I bought this bed on sale and it is definitely worth the price I paid! It was easy to assemble, cute, simple and just like the picture! My only complaint is that it’s a little squeaky if you toss and turn but that could be due to my lack of handwork during assembly.

Perfect day bed for one grandchild and then when I have 2 of them overnight, the trundle bed pulls right out, pops up easily and locks on to the frame to make a full size bed.
