I ordered the brown. It is a darker true brown with no hint of red. You do have to keep it away from the wall about three inches if you plan to use the mirror. I am only 53 and it cut my face in half when flush with the wall. I had to pull it out so the mirror could lean back. I dont think the modern knobs go well with the finish or the traditional style. I plan to switch them out.
