Fauteuil ballon 29 po Feldt

My favorite purchase. This chair was something I’ve been wanting to make for years! It’s well built and has held up to reupholster well!

I shopped a long time for a balloon chair for my entry. I really wanted red leather, but considered the other colors and fabrics as I shopped. In the end I went with this chair because of the red and dark wood combination. Leather was prohibitively expensive -- especially since I didn't find red leather at all -- so the velvet was a good compromise. I was a little concerned that the color would be gaudily bright. This chair is lovely. It's well made, and the red is a deep, rich shade. I am giddily happy to finally have it in my entry. When I come in at the end of the day it makes me smile, and accepts my heavy bag with class. It looks great against my navy blue walls. My only negative is that it's not terribly deep. I would not be able to snuggle in with a book in this chair. I think I saw a mention of that in reviews of other models and colors, so I'm not surprised. And that is not my purpose, so I'm good with it.
