These chairs just arrived and, after I pined over them for two years, I’m a bit disappointed. There are a ton of things I wish I knew about these chairs prior to ordering, and though I read reviews I didn’t get a lot of detail on them so hopefully, this helps someone.
Pros: The chair is beautiful to look at. It comes fully assembled so there’s nothing to do but unwrap A LOT of packing material. The colors in the photo are true to the product, the cream fabric is lovely and the wood is nice.
Cons: So many cons … for one, the craftsmanship is missing. The chair arrived with white scratches on the top/back/sides and there is glue EVERYWHERE!!! I can’t look at one of the panels without seeing glue on it. The piping inside the chairs doesn't start/end in the right spots, so you can see seams in the middle of the panels (5th photo). The cream fabric is thin, so if there’s a place where the inside batting/filling isn’t quite done right, you can see dark spots within the chair. The seat is highly uncomfortable/firm/makes a weird noise when you sit down, but also, you can feel it “give” through the bottom when you sit down (even my mom noticed this and she’s 5’0”/92lbs). The boxes that these chairs arrive in are large and awkward, and while I scheduled an entryway delivery they had to leave them outside because the boxes DO NOT fit through your front door. The chairs must be fully unpacked before you can move them/bring them in, and as I stated, they come with tons of packing material—I filled two trash cans with the material, not to mention the large stack of cardboard boxes you’ll need to dispose of. My two chairs were packaged to different levels--one was fully covered and another was lightly packed, leading me to believe it was a return (first photo is one chair's packaging, the last photo is the second chair's packaging out of the box). Both have the same craftsmanship issues (glue/scratches, etc.) so I'm thinking my problems are quality control. You will also need two people to carry them inside, the shape is too awkward to lift alone. Finally, when you sit in the chairs your voice echos AND muffles at the same time, which isn’t really conducive to conversations.
Overall takeaway: I’m still on the fence as to whether or not I keep these chairs or ask for a return due to the poor craftsmanship, and the fact that they arrived damaged with the scratches and the glue (I could see the scratches prior to unpacking on the back side of the chairs). The thing is, I do need tall chairs in my vaulted front room/dining room combo, and my dining chairs are 50” tall, so I wanted sitting chairs that were even taller than that, and to help fill the vaulted space, but that I could move to put our 16’ Christmas tree up in December. These DO fit that bill, even though they’re quite imperfect. We honestly don’t sit in the room too much (it’s mostly for looks), and to buy nicer chairs I’m looking at a price jump of 5k per chair, which is far more than I purchased these chairs for. TBD for me, but hopefully this review helps you make an informed decision about the chairs.
