The shipping box arrived in very bad shape, and was torn all the way through in spots, but when I peaked into the box where the holes were, the wood seemed to be in tact. My husband didn't have time to assemble it when it arrived, and unfortunately, it was beyond the 30-day return policy when my out of town son came to visit and offered to assemble it. It took about 1-1/2 hours to put together. As one person already mentioned, the instructions got the parts bags H and i mixed up, but you could tell what parts to use for the appropriate steps. It was night time, with limited lighting when he put it together, so due to the black finish, we didn't notice the front panel and the top back corner arrived damaged. It looked like the manufacturer tried to fix the chipped corner, but they didn't do a very good job. If they had drilled the holes for the hinges on that side, the chipped corner would not have been visible. The front panel near the center had cracked in multiple directions, as if it had been shattered from being dropped. I don't know if this happened before or after shipping, but I would say they should have used thicker Styrofoam to ensure the product arrived in tact. Until I figure the best way to make the repairs, I colored in the cracks and raw wood with black Magic Marker. The raised back corner will have to be cut out and replaced with wood filler. The cracked front panel will need to be filled and sanded as well. The hardest parts will be to duplicate the raised wood grain pattern to match the rest of the panel and find matching black paint. I was very pleased with this storage bench and would've given it 5 stars until I discovered the damage a few days after assembly, when I moved it to it's permanent location. I've never ordered from Wayfair before, so I didn't know what to expect. I suppose if I had noticed the damage within 30 days, I probably would not have wanted to disassemble it and pay for costly return shipping. I will attach photos of the damage.

This piece of furniture is very easy to assemble. It has a farm style. It has very good storage capacity. It has a division I want if you need to store something bigger you can remove the division since it is not fixed. You can use it anywhere in the house since it is very decorative. I ordered it black since all my furniture is black, but they sent it white.

Nice looking chest that's surprisingly roomy! I emptied out 3 under bed storage boxes, and now it's all nicely tucked away in this chest. I have 6 sets of sheets, a twin blanket, a queen quilt and shams, a plush throw blanket, and after I took the pictures I added a queen velour blanket to top it off. I ordered the black chest and received the white one, but if I get tired of the white I'll just paint it. Regardless of the color, it is perfect to store all of our extra bedding in!
