We got this island for our kitchen and overall it has been a really great addition to our space. Our kitchen is pretty small, so we really needed extra storage and a little more counter space without completely overcrowding the room. This island ended up being a really practical solution for that. The size works well in a smaller kitchen while still providing a surprising amount of storage.
One of my favorite features is all of the shelving. There’s plenty of room for spices, oils, cooking sprays, seasonings, and all the little things that usually clutter up the countertops or cabinets. We also use some of the storage space for smaller appliances and cleaning supplies, which helped free up a lot of room elsewhere in the kitchen. The extra counter space on top has also been really helpful for meal prep.
That said, I do think it’s important to be realistic about what the shelves can hold. Since the unit is made with MDF, I personally would not recommend storing cast iron cookware or very heavy pots and pans on the shelves long term because they will start to bow over time.
The assembly process was probably the most frustrating part. The instructions were pretty confusing at first, and we had to redo a couple of steps because we misunderstood the diagrams. However, once we got farther into the build the instructions started making more sense and everything became easier to put together.
Overall, I think this kitchen island is a really great option if you don’t have a lot of storage space and just need some extra organization and counter room.
