Unfinished, to my surprise. Also larger than anticipated. Also instructions are in wrong order for leg assembly. Otherwise good chairs.

These chairs came just as described. Very easy to stain with minimal sanding. I'm not sure what type of wood it is but it goes nicely with my matched stained pine table. Also easy to assemble.
