This is a well made table, material mango wood, but resembles bamboo. The insert is rattan or seems to be rattan. In any event it adds to the feel of the table. The price was very reasonable. It is a large table that fits a regular size couch. The natural color was a bit light for me and I stained it a beautiful pecan. Love it
