I cannot believe how impossible this is to build. NOT because it's confusing or missing pieces, but because it's impossibly heavy. No, you don't understand - it comes in four 100+ lb boxes. There is a part of the build where you take the top half thats been built and attach it to the bottom half. It's so unreasonable to think that any two people could do this. We had three grown men trying to lift this top half and line all 12 pegs into these tiny holes, with no where to grip it... we failed many, many times. It's sturdy-ish, and the pieces are fine enough quality wise (I mean it is MDF) but it's silly to think that this could be assembled the way the instructions are written. We literally can't get it assembled. To return it, you'd have to pack it all up in the boxes again and it's just one of those things that will never pack up again the way it came. I'm out $1k and have a huge, 400lb pile of junk in my room. And I really stand by that 400lbs. The listen says 319 lbs and thats too little. It simply is not able to be built the way it was written and to do it any other way means the long anchoring volts would not be able to drive all the way through to secure it. That might not make sense to you, but I tried rebuilding it standing up about 10 different times, and it won't work. It has to be laying down, but then it's way too heavy to lift back up high enough to get all 12 pins to align with the tiny holes in the base. What a waste of my money and time and back muscles and sanity.

Fit perfectly in our space, along with the matching bookshelf. Overall, we are happy with the build quality and the way it looks. It was packed very well, with lots of styrofoam and heavy duty cardboard. I would say the only reason for not giving five stars is the assembly process. Following the directions and assembling was fairly easy, but one of the final steps of connecting the top of the bookshelf to the lower desk portion is nearly impossible. It seems like they could have designed the assembly order a little differently so it is not such a heavy lift. My wife and I were able to get it connected using some ingenuity to make the lift easier. I would estimate it weighs over 200 pounds though.. and you have to line up the pins / dowels perfectly over a very large area. My wife and I are very experienced at building, and strong / athletic, but it was probably the most challenging step I’ve ever had on a piece of furniture. The matching bookshelf was also heavy, but much easier. Good luck! But overall it is a very nice piece and looks like built in shelves, which is what we wanted.
