The finish is flat. The photo here makes it looks nice and shiny. Some of the stain is missing in the grooves. Wayfair did try to make it right and provided several options, so I was happy about that. If I had seen this in person I would not have purchased. Several folks were happy so maybe the finish wasn’t properly competed on mine. The materials are cheap.
