Table basse en bois massif

We are renovating our Living room to more of an OLD WORLD style. We saw this beautiful coffee table and knew it was just what we were looking for to fit our style and be beautiful. After I ordered, I worried it would be too colorful. When it arrived, we absolutely fell in love with the carved leather top and the beautiful color stain. This is a gorgeous piece of quality furniture.

IT'S BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED. LIGHT WEIGHT TABLE.

I have mixed feelings about the table. The painted leather is as beautiful as I had hoped, but the wooden tabletop it is inlaid into seems really cheap. The description emphasizes mohena wood, so I expected to see some sort of natural wood grain. Not even close. It seems like some veneer has been attached to the tabletop with noticeable seams, and then that veneer was painted over. I guess the brush strokes are supposed to appear like a wood grain if you don't look too closely. In any case, the "mohena wood" may as well be pine since it can't be seen. Assembly required wood glue, which wasn't provided. I happened to have some, so no big deal for me.

Beautiful but very light weight and unstable.

Subtle and dramatic at the same time. Definitely needs careful thought as to how it fits into your room design. I have neutral room, (deep Navy blue leather sofa set) so it is beautiful. Allows just about any color accents in the room.
