First, the good news! It's gorgeous. It is packed SO well. I love it. Now the other news. It has screws that are unnecessary and ugly. A locking furniture screw connects the arm to the arm connector. This would not go together for me, and pulls upward if there is any pulling, like if you are trying to pull yourself up from the deep sofa. It should have been connected at the factory, or been connected with dowels and glue. That's the old way and would have been cheaper anyway. And the arm was the first thing to go together, but then we had to add a block to support it. It should have been the last thing to assemble. And - why only send one allen wrench???? Next, the screws on the legs show and make it look cheap, like furniture you assemble yourself. But this is what I could afford. MATTRESS This is supposed to be made for a standard twin mattress, but it is wider by about 4-5 inches. I padded the back side so I could push it to the front. STAIN /FINISH The entire piece is sanded except for the back. Which means, if this isn't against a wall, you will see and feel the rough surface. And last, I am a very experienced crafter and semi-experienced construction worker. I built my own kitchen island and handmade wood top. It took two of us 7 hours to assemble. That's 14 man-hours. There are missing details, so if you can afford pre-assembly, do it. I'm so disappointed that I will forever have a broken arm on this because of the way it's constructed. Or I can use my extensive knowledge to fix - somehow :( But, overall, I'd buy again. I have a formal living room that was useless, and this daybed looks cute here and provides some function. Note to Wayfair - why don't you sell nice daybed covers that don't look like a kid's bedroom? You're missing out. I will have to sew one.
