Bottom Line: These stools are made of decent quality materials, with a lower profile to take up less space. They are comfortable, and I cannot identify any major flaws, but I simply do not think they are worth what I paid for them given the materials, the build quality, and the assembly (and I bought them on sale for around $200 each). Color and Fit: I ordered the grey bar height stools. The grey is quite dark, almost black in lower lighting. The wood is not a single tone, which I can’t decide whether I like or not. The wider sides of the legs are darker, whereas the thinner sides (where you can see each layer of pressed wood) are lighter. Similar with the wood on the back and bottom of the seat. My bar/island counter does not hang out very far, so these shallower seats are a good fit. The chair is fairly low profile, which I like because I can almost tuck the chairs under the counter completely when I am not using them. Without arms, I don’t have to worry about swiveling into the countertop and ruining the arms. Comfort and Function: These stools are fairly plush. I have not sat in them for over an hour yet, but short durations (like meals at the counter) are comfortable. I can imagine, given the short back of the chair and somewhat shallow seat, that long durations in these chairs would get uncomfortable. What I liked about these stools over other low-profile stools was the rounded contouring of the seat and back. The foot rung is at a good height, though it is relatively far back (so your knees are bent more than you might expect). Again, I traded long-duration comfort for a smaller footprint. Assembly: Yes, you do have to assemble these. The packaging is very strange, and both of my chairs appeared to have been opened before, based on the haphazard tape job done on the boxes. However, upon opening the boxes and putting them together, I believe my chairs are brand new. Assembly would absolutely have been easier with another person to help, but I was able to do both chairs by myself. Pro tip: assemble the legs and footrest upside down to make stabilizing them easier, rather than right side up as the directions indicate. Once I figured out the first chair, which took about an hour, I got the second chair done in under 10 minutes. In full disclosure, I used a power tool rather than the Allen wrench included. All in all, these chairs are nice. I like them, and they fit well with my smaller space and the colors in my kitchen. Are they a good value? No. But are they a good purchase? Yes.

I specifically searched for barstools that were already assembled. The description says they are assembled. They were NOT assembled. Some of the stitching is loose on the seats. The black frame is cheap looking.

Quality if fair/passable, but the biggest issue with these is that the seat is rather small. I'm trim for my height and even my 5'-7" frame took up every bit of real estate that they seat provides.
