The back of the seat does not extend past the backrest and leaves a undesirable gap. The staining is inconsistent and uneven. Love the look of the chairs, just the attention to detail is lacking . Seem sturdy.

These are great chairs for the asking price. And I'm very happy with my purchase. However, I've assembled lots of pre-engineered rubberwood furniture before and I thought the assembly for these chairs was non-trivial. The back and legs go together fine (although the angled placement of the hex-head screws is tedious). I used a T25 Torx driver to at least get them finger tight before pulling out the hex wrench. But the seat itself wasn't aligned (or pre-drilled) and had to be clamped down before I could flip it over to secure it with the provided screws. Not a show-stopper but buyer beware. Overall, this is a quality product, once you get it assembled.

Solid, attractive chairs but definitely closer to black than "dark walnut". The screws were very difficult to screw in, would definitely recommend upgrading to a ball allen key or you will be screwing each one in very marginally at a time
