As this setup is not along the wall, we use the batteries. These chairs require a fresh battery every week or less. I have other battery powered recliners. The other recliners only require a fresh battery every month or more. BTW - same batteries.

The loveseat has wide seats and is comfortable. The massage rollers and heat are an amazing add on. The buttons on the inside are brilliant as our old couch was on the outside and difficult to locate and see. My one gripe is the USB charging points, these need to be on the outside of the couch. I have rubbed up against the charging cords which hurts. Not sure why they put that on the inside.
