This product has got to be the biggest disappointment I've ever suffered from Wayfair. And if I can give this product 0 stars, I absolutely would. So let's go through the list of defects of this product from top to bottom shall we? From opening the box, our first complaint has got to be the instruction manual. We're no strangers to assembling furniture, but the instructions for this piece was very poorly written and organized. It made the whole thing a pretty confusing maze to navigate. The materials are all very poorly made. I guess they couldn't save money on the hardwood top, so they decided to skimp elsewhere using press board, and cheap alloys for the screws and hinges. The metal components were so weak that my husband managed to strip a screw completely by just hand tightening with a screwdriver. The pre-drilled holes were also pretty inaccurate, so that didn't help matters. One of the hinges were bent so that affected the end product which I'll get to in a moment. And last but not least, one of the back pieces simply didn't fit. So we had to exclude it from the construction of the cart. All in all, it's clear that they used cheap manufacturing methods to maximize their profit. Well prepare for no profit at all. Now to the finished product. Feel free to browse the pictures for the hot mess that it turned out to be. The top drawers can open but don't close properly. In order to push it all the way in, you have to push down and in. But if you use too much force, then it sinks into the frame. If you look at the bottom, firstly you can see through to the back because of the missing piece that won't fit. And also, these doors don't close properly either because of the bent hinge. The only way to close it properly is to open and close them together so that the force of the two doors propping each other up can counter the force of the bent hinge. Let's also not forget that the finish is abysmal. The scratches on the bottom door were there when we opened the box. If not for the fact that I paid nearly $500 for this piece, I'd throw out this piece right this very minute. But because I did, I will use it for at least a couple more years before defenestrating it. Next time I plan to buy quality. Which won't be hard if this is the bar that Ebern Designs sets. I will NEVER buy from Ebern Designs, or their cheapo manufacturer Costway again. And I hope you don't either.
